Granny’s Tamales Houston

What started with a family recipe has grown to over eight Granny’s Tamales stores across the United States, all owned by members of the Gonzalez Family. Juanita Gonzalez, the 'original' Granny, developed the recipe for these mouth-watering tamales back in the 1990 and shared the 'oh-so-secret recipe' only with family members.

Juanita and her husband, Robert, opened the first Granny’s Tamales shop in Corpus Christi over 20 years ago. Their legacy has been carried out by son Daniel and his wife Tina with the opening of a Humble location over 17 years ago and the addition of a second and third location as well. Daniel and Tina have been married for over 35 years with three children, two of whom work with them in the business. Tina left a very lucrative sales career to come on board full time with business expanding so rapidly.
